Monster Hunter Wilds currently has 14 weapons to use in the game. Each weapon brings its own use to the table, but not all of them can help you excel in the battle. To help you find the ideal weapon, we have created a tier list of all weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunters Wilds weapon tier list
Here is the tier list of all weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds:
Tier | Weapon |
S | Long Sword, Bow, Great Sword |
A | Dual Blades, Charge Blade, Switch Axe, Gunlance |
B | Heavy Bowgun, Hammer, Insect Glaive |
C | Light Bowgun |
D | Sword & Shield, Lance, Hunting Horn |
S-Tier

These weapons are incredibly strong and if you have them, then you are already a beast in this game. However, it is not easy to unlock them. Here is the list of all S-Tier weapons:
Weapon | Description |
Long Sword | The Long Sword is great at melee range and it inflicts devasting damage to enemies. |
Bow | The Bow is incredibly fast and a beast at ranged attacks. |
Great Sword | The Great Sword is incredibly powerful but is a slow and heavy weapon. |
A-Tier

Sometimes, you can opt for these weapons as they can easily compete with an S-Tier weapon. Something else to note is that they offer better handling than the S-Tier weapons, but obviously fall just short in terms of damage. Here is the list of all A-Tier weapons:
Weapon | Description |
Dual Blades | Dual Blades are light and are great at unleashing a flurry of attacks. |
Charge Blade | The Charge Blade is incredibly fast and powerful. |
Switch Axe | The Switch Axe inflicts elemental damage. |
Gunlance | The Gunlance is very good at offense but it suffers with range. |
B-Tier

You can use these weapons if you want to but at some point, they will disappoint you. So it is advised to look for high-tier weapons. Here is the list of all B-Tier weapons:
Weapon | Description |
Heavy Bowgun | The Heavy Bowgun is very slow, but it does pack a punch. |
Hammer | The Hammer is another slow weapon that inflicts decent damage. |
Insect Glaive | You can do aerial attacks with the Insect Glaive, but it's still not great. |
C-Tier

These weapons are good if you have leveled up a bit and are facing tougher enemies. But it goes without saying that you cannot be overly reliant on them. Here is the list of all C-Tier weapons:
Weapon | Description |
Light Bowgun | This is a very lightweight weapon that has a great fire rate but low damage. |
D-Tier

These weapons are great for beginners and to understand the gameplay mechanics. They are very easy to use so you won't feel frustrated. Here is the list of all D-Tier weapons:
Weapon | Description |
Sword & Shield | It is great for beginners, offering the quintessential RPG experience. |
Lance | Another good weapon for beginners that can help both in offense and defense. |
Hunting Horn | The Hunting Horn is very easy to use and excels in long-range. |
