The Pokémon Company just revealed a new must-have TCG item—one you’ll probably never get to buy because scalpers will scoop up all the stock before you even get a chance.
Several Pokémon TCG insiders have shared the first images of the Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection, reportedly launching on May 16. Like other premium collections, it includes booster packs, set-themed sleeves, and exclusive card art—this time featuring Eevee ex.
However, The Pokémon Company has yet to officially announce the product. It’s possible they’ll reveal it during the Pokémon Day 2025 celebrations.
Pokémon TCG's Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection contents
According to leaked images, the Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection includes:
- 1 full-art foil promo card of Eevee ex
- Eevee deck box
- Playmat featuring Eevee & its evolutions
- 65 card sleeves with Eevee & its evolutions
- 15 Prismatic Evolutions booster packs
- Code card for Pokémon TCG Live
While the suggested retail price remains unknown, its contents are closer to an Ultra-Premium Collection (like Terapagos ex’s box) than a Super-Premium one (Charizard ex’s box). That suggests a price point around $120.
But once again, real players will likely struggle to buy it at retail price, with scalpers inflating costs on the secondary market.
Prismatic Evolutions already has a scalper problem
The Prismatic Evolutions set includes some of the most valuable cards in recent Pokémon TCG history, particularly the Special Illustration Rare Eeveelution cards, such as Jolteon ex at a $280 minimum resale value and Umbreon ex getting to over $1,500.
These prices stem from low product availability—as Prismatic Evolutions is a special set with limited print runs—and the massive popularity of Eeveelution cards. But the real problem is scalpers who buy up bulk stock online and in stores, hoarding products for profit.
Scalpers operate in two ways: Bulk purchasing to maximize chances of pulling rare cards and reselling them at a premium, or holding onto sealed products like Elite Trainer Boxes and booster boxes to resell at double or triple retail price to desperate collectors.
This already happened in 2023, when the Van Gogh museum halted distribution of a Pikachu promo after scalpers took control of the stock. We're also seeing similar movement with the Pokémon Day 2025 promo cards, which are already on sale for high prices in the secondary market.
Currently, Prismatic Evolutions sealed products are reselling for at least double their original price.
- Elite Trainer Box (MSRP: $59.99) → Reselling for $120
- Booster Bundle (MSRP: $26.94) → Reselling for $69
The situation got so bad that The Pokémon Company publicly addressed the issue on Jan. 15, promising to print more product. Yet, at the time of writing, every Prismatic Evolutions product is still out of stock on the official Pokémon Center website.
Will the Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection Be Any Different?
Unfortunately, there’s no reason to believe this box will be any easier to get. Unless retailers and The Pokémon Company take action, expect another wave of scalping, leaving only a small fraction of real fans able to purchase it at retail price.
