The Sims 4's Enchanted by Nature expansion arrives soon, which means we'll have another Occult Sim type to play with. Although I've had a long-standing favorite for a while, I may very well find another soon.
One of the first expansion packs I bought was Get to Work. Before then, I didn't think about the Occult and didn't even know Plant Sims existed until years later. With Get to Work, I learned about aliens, bringing me down a rabbit hole involving mermaids, werewolves, and, now, fairies.

I'll admit it—I haven't played with every Occult Sim. I have some familiarity with vampires and spellcasters, while my knowledge of Jungle Adventures' Skeleton Sims is limited. I've also played with Servos, but with how many you can find during a normal playthrough, I don't tend to think about that often.
That's where we get into my personal favorite so far: Werewolves. Although I find it more fun to turn into one through bites, I usually start as one through CAS before starting in Moonwood Mill. Call it unsurprising, but I love the werewolf pack, its mechanics, and even the customization when making your wolf character. If I make Occult playthroughs, I usually stick to werewolves, both for their abilities and the potential for challenges.

That is, until the Enchanted by Nature expansion comes out with its fairy Occult. Between what's been shown through The Sims 4's announcement trailers and gameplay reviews from the game's content creators, we've been able to see what the pack entails. It turns out that fairies have a similar gameplay style to werewolves and a ton more customization options than every other Occult type combined.
Enchanted by Nature's fairies may potentially become my new favorite type at this rate. I love character customization, and I'm a sucker for mystical, fantasy settings in any game. It'll really depend on what their gameplay is like and how creative we can get with community challenges. Only time will tell how my opinion will change.
What's your favorite Occult Sim type? Are you looking forward to playing as a fairy, or are you skipping this pack and waiting for the next? Let us know in the comments below!
