Best Calcium build in Megabonk

Image
Calcium is one of the coolest and best-looking characters in Megabonk , one that you will unlock after killing 1,000 skeletons. Calcium is one of the fastest characters in the game, and he can either use that speed to his advantage or to find an equally quick demise. Below you'll find the optimal Calcium build to use in Megabonk , as well as a few cool alternatives should the RNG not favor your run. Best Tomes, Weapons, and Items for Calcium Type Best choices Good choices Weapons Bone Flamewalker Bananarang Aura Revolver Firestaff Lightning Staff Tomes Agility Projectile Speed Damage Luck Size Lifesteal Items Turbo Socks Turbo Skates Phantom Shroud Golden Sneakers Coward's Cloak Clover Calcium requires more skill to play than the starter characters. Still, if played correctly, Calcium is one of the best and definitely most fun characters. Calcium's passive is Speed Demon , which means this character is at its best when using it...

Best Monke build in Megabonk

Image
Megabonk might have 20 characters for you to pick from for your run, but few are as fun as Monke. This character has incredible speed and mobility and offers the ability to climb walls, which is unique. Unlocking him also differs from other characters, as you must find and release him in the Forest. Like every character in Megabonk, you'll want to use a build that suits his strengths and weaknesses. Best Megabonk Monke build Here's what I think is the best possible build for the ape in Megabonk . Type Best Choices Good Choices Weapons Bananarang (Primary) Aura Bone Katana Bow Tomes Quantity Size Projectile Speed HP Attack Speed Agility Damage Items Forbidden Juice Holy Book Gym Sauce Phantom Shroud Clover Slutty Cannon Anvil Bananarang is a difficult weapon to master in Megabonk , but it has dual benefits, although you'll have to be very good with your aim. To hit more enemies, you'll have to predict their movements and th...

What does difficulty do in Megabonk?

Image
Difficulty is one of the most interesting character stats in Megabonk , and understanding it will be key to success on every run. Given the nature of Megabonk , you won't want to make things more difficult. However, the game also rewards you for your extra effort in the form of XP, Silver, and Gold. Interestingly, you can pre-determine your run's difficulty and modify it midway. Table of contents What is the Difficulty stat in Megabonk How to raise the Difficulty in Megabonk What is the Difficulty stat in Megabonk Simply put, Difficulty determines how hard (or easy) your current run is. If the value is high, you'll have more enemies spawn. These enemies will also have more health and damage, making things more complicated. However, you'll earn more rewards from taking down these strong enemies. It's a great risk vs. reward approach that you can choose for yourself. Best Lucky Charms to use in CloverPit

Image
Lucky Charms form the backbone of your build in CloverPit , and become the ultimate deciding factor between how many deadlines you can clear. Lucky Charms are purchased with tickets before the start of a new deadline. You can choose from different options and refresh the ones available on some occasions. You can't purchase unlimited Lucky Charms, as you won't have the space or the tickets. This guide will enlighten you about the best ones to buy. Top Lucky Charms to buy in CloverPit Here are my suggestions for the best Lucky Charms to buy and use in CloverPit, depending on their appearance on your run. Screenshot by Destructoid Lucky Cat: This charm is cheap (costs one ticket) and works well with any build. If you get 3+ patterns from a spin, you'll earn money equal to your current interest. This charm might not be very useful at the start. However, you'll have other charms that promote better synergy in advanced deadlines. The interest in such deadlines wil...

What does Corpse do in CloverPit?

Image
CloverPit is the latest indie smash hit, combining roguelite elements with gambling, much like Balatro did. It also has a large assortment of items and charms that improve your odds of winning and seeing the cash flow from the slot machine. This includes the Corpse pieces, mysterious items attached to the machine itself whose purpose is never stated. So, here's everything you need to know about the Corpse in CloverPit . CloverPit Corpse, explained Corpses can spawn in your Drawers during runs or before a run even starts. Screenshot by Destructoid Corpse parts in CloverPit are unique items that are equipped to the slot machine itself, rather than being counted among your charms. They appear in empty drawers every time you get a 666 on a spin, with a cap of one Corpse per round . If your drawers are full at the time, you won't get them. Each equipped Corpse increases your total debt by five percent , which makes the game a lot more difficult. Additionally, Corpse pa...

All items in Megabonk and how to unlock them

Image
The key to a great build in Megabonk is items, and you can get more options on a run over time. When you're starting, the options will be limited. A few items that can spawn on your run are unlocked by default. The spawns are entirely random. However, completing quests unlocks more items. Once you purchase them with Silver, they can spawn on your run after clearing certain in-game conditions. How to get all items in Megabonk The table below contains information about unlocking every available item inside the game. Megabonk review: an absurd, charming, yet potent evolution of the Survivors-like formula

Image
2025 has been excellent so far for roguelike fans, with so many unique and fun games coming out one after the other. From Hades 2 to Silksong , we've seen some heavyweights drop in 2025, but indies (which these two also are) have, too, dominated the scene. One such game is Megabonk , the latest roguelike craze that takes inspiration from games that've defined the genre, but sprinkles in some of its own ideas, with the result being an absurd, meme-packed, chaotic title that truly stands out. It was made by a single person, but it plays as if a whole team of geniuses worked on it, refining recognizable mechanics into a new and refreshing experience. Here is our full review. Megabonk has tons of different characters for you to choose from. Screenshot by Destructoid The best of two worlds Megabonk , at its core, has two souls: each related to either Risk of Rain or Vampire Survivors . Which dominates its whole more is up for debate, as both are equally represented in it...

Best Megabonk items tier list

Image
Megabonk offers plenty of items to utilize with your builds, some of which work well with any character, weapon, or tome. The number of items at the start is somewhat limited, but you get more options as you complete different challenges, quests, and more. You can add the items with Silver, which can pop up inside the game. This guide will help you understand which items are the best to equip on your run. Disclaimer: We are still reviewing a few items and will update their positions in this list soon. Table of contents Complete Megabonk items tier list S-tier A-tier B-tier C-tier Complete Megabonk items tier list To separate the items, I have used four distinct tiers. S-tier items work well with almost any character and weapon. A-tier items work well with most characters and weapons. B-tier items have niche scenarios, but their effects fall off quickly. C-tier items have particular use-case scenarios at best. Screenshot by Destructoid S-tier Beefy Ring...

EA could be taken private as it ‘nears’ deal with Saudi Arabian and American investors

Image
EA, a gaming superpower that has reigned supreme over various genres for decades, could be going private as it is reportedly negotiating a $50 billion deal with the Saudi Arabian Private Investment Fund (PIF) and American private equity investment firm Silver Lake. As per the Wall Street Journal , “a group of investors including private equity firm Silver Lake and Saudi Arabia's Private Investment Fund could unveil a deal for the publisher as soon as next week.” The price is yet to be determined, but sources told WSJ that EA's value could reach as high as $50 billion. If the deal does go through, it'll be the biggest “leveraged buyout deal” in history, eclipsing the acquisition of energy company TXU, which was purchased for 32 billion dollars, also by a group of private equity firms. EA owns a ton of popular franchises and live-service gold mines. Image via Epic Games This would also mark yet another major investment coming out of Saudi Arabia's Private Investmen...

Fortnite Delulu end countdown: Exact end time and date and possible comeback

Image
Fortnite Delulu is back this weekend for one last run of chaotic proximity chat matches before Epic Games removes the mode once again. Delulu became a popular experience that was constantly featured in the top 10 most played, but it was always meant to have a limited run and eventually go offline. When Epic announced Fortnite Delulu , it said the mode would first go offline on Sept. 22 and return on Sept. 26. Now that the mode is live, we know it will be shut down once again, and for an indefinite amount of time, on Monday, Sept. 29, at 8am CT. That means you have the entire weekend to enjoy the mode, if you like its spontaneous squad building and unpredictable voice chat interactions. [hurrytimer id="1122623"] Why was Fortnite Delulu taken down? Fortnite Delulu was removed because it's always been a temporary game mode. Epic rarely launches permanent game modes without testing them first for a limited time, so this round of Delulu is probably part of the devs ...

Resident Evil Requiem producer says you don’t need to play prior games in the franchise to enjoy RE9, and I take issue with that

Image
The marketing around Resident Evil Requiem has not been shy about the fact that the game will be making a return to the ruins of Raccoon City, the location of the first three games in the 30-year-old franchise. Next year is Resident Evil's 30th anniversary, and bringing everything full circle to the beginning in RE9 makes sense. But according to one of the game's producers in a new interview with VGC , players will still be able to have fun with the game even if it's their first in the series." Image via Capcom "We think it’s important to balance the extra fun that you get from nostalgic Easter Eggs and hints and lore connections if you’re a series fan, versus not making a game alienating to players who aren’t caught up," RE9 producer Masato Kumazawa said at Tokyo Game Show today. "I don’t want people to feel they have to do their homework to fully appreciate this game." Personally? If I'm playing the ninth numbered game in a franchi...

OD: Knock looks terrifying, but one thing scares me more than ghosts and demons

Image
Hideo Kojima's upcoming horror game, OD: Knock , announced way back when, has finally gotten a new trailer. And, though it looks hauntingly similar to the cancelled P.T. and could be a masterclass in horror, I'm more scared of its use of certain technologies that may throw it off the tracks. And, yes, you've already guessed it: I'm talking about Unreal Engine 5. Instead of his established Decima Engine, Kojima is going for the Unreal Engine this time around, likely because of its free license, the former being the property of Sony. This'll let Kojima once again be free of corporate ties and allow him to publish his game on whatever platform he sees fit. That's all fine and dandy, if it weren't carrying significant risks of a poor launch. Another reason for using the Unreal Engine 5 is its exceptional human recreation capabilities, with, as we've seen in both the first teaser and this new trailer , OD having realistic facial reconstructions of its a...
